“I am deeply honoured to serve as the Honorary President of the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology. Throughout my career, my work has been driven by a simple but vital objective: to strengthen food safety, integrity and trust across increasingly complex global food systems. In this respect, SOFHT’s mission aligns exceptionally well with both my research focus and my personal values.

SOFHT plays a crucial role in building connections, supporting continuous professional development, and championing practical excellence across the food sector. Its long-standing commitment to education, evidence-based practice and knowledge sharing is more important than ever at a time of rapid technological change and emerging risks.
